Terms and Conditions

1. Organizer The Saturday Review International Photography Exhibition 2027: "The Human Family" (the "Exhibition") is organized by Saturday Review Magazine LLC ("Saturday Review"), a Kansas limited liability company.

2. Eligibility The Exhibition is open to photographers worldwide, amateur and professional, who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees, officers, and jurors of Saturday Review and their immediate family members are not eligible. The Exhibition is void where prohibited by law.

3. Entry Period Entries open in October 2026 and close on March 15, 2027 at 23:59 UTC. Late entries will not be considered.

4. Theme The theme is "The Human Family." Entries should respond to the question "What makes us human?" Interpretation is left to the photographer.

5. How to Enter All entries must be submitted through Picter. Each photographer may submit one entry of one to three photographs. Each photograph must include a title, a description, and the place where it was made. Each entrant must provide their name, postal address, and a short biography. Entries cannot be edited after submission.

6. Entry Fee The entry fee is €5 (or $5.50 USD) per entry, whether the entry contains one, two, or three photographs. Fees are charged in euros and are non-refundable, including in cases of disqualification or withdrawal.

7. Image Requirements Images must be at least 1,500 pixels on the long edge. Images must not carry watermarks, signatures, borders, or any mark identifying the photographer. Selected photographers will be asked to supply a file of at least 3,000 pixels on the long edge for print publication.

8. Originality and Editing Each photograph must be the entrant's own original work. Standard adjustments such as color correction, contrast, and cropping are permitted. Images generated wholly or substantially by artificial intelligence are not eligible. Composites or alterations that change the factual content of a scene must be disclosed in the image description.

9. Copyright and License Photographers retain full copyright in their work. By entering, each entrant grants Saturday Review a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to reproduce, publish, and display selected photographs in Saturday Review magazine, on its website and social media channels, in exhibitions, and in materials promoting the Exhibition. Saturday Review will credit the photographer wherever the work appears. Any other use, including a book or sale of prints, requires a separate written agreement with the photographer.

10. Entrant Warranties Each entrant confirms that:

  • They are the sole author and copyright holder of each photograph submitted.
  • The photographs do not infringe the rights of any third party.
  • They have obtained any releases or permissions required from identifiable people or from owners of private property shown in the photographs.
  • The photographs were made lawfully and without causing harm to the people, animals, or places depicted.

11. Judging Entries are reviewed by one or more jurors appointed by Saturday Review and named on the Exhibition page. Entries are evaluated on the judging criteria published in the call. All decisions are final.

12. Awards and Publication One Grand Prize of €1,000 (about $1,125 USD) will be awarded, and the winning work will be published in Saturday Review. Additional selected photographs will be published in Saturday Review and its online gallery. The prize is paid in euros or the US dollar equivalent on the date of payment. Awards are not transferable. Recipients are responsible for any taxes on awards received.

13. Notification Results will be announced on April 15, 2027. The winner and selected photographers will be notified by email. A photographer who does not respond within 14 days of notification may forfeit selection. Selected photographers may be asked to supply high-resolution files and signed releases.

14. Disqualification Saturday Review may disqualify any entry that does not comply with these Terms, that contains false information, or that it considers unlawful, defamatory, or exploitative. Disqualification may occur at any stage, including after selection.

15. Privacy Personal information is collected only to administer the Exhibition, to communicate with entrants, and to credit selected photographers. Saturday Review does not sell entrant information. Entries are also subject to Picter's terms of service and privacy policy.

16. Limitation of Liability Saturday Review is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, or corrupted entries, or for technical failures of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, entrants release Saturday Review, its officers, staff, and jurors from any claim arising from participation in the Exhibition.

17. Changes and Cancellation Saturday Review may amend these Terms, extend the entry period, or cancel the Exhibition if circumstances require. Any changes will be posted on the Exhibition page.

18. Governing Law These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, United States.
