About

Landskrona Foto Festival celebrates its 10th edition in 2026. Over the years, the festival has established a strong tradition of exhibiting photography in outdoor settings. It is a core part of our mission to take photography beyond cultural institutions and bring it closer to the local community.

For our 2026 edition, we invite artists and photographers to submit projects for our outdoor exhibition programme, responding to the theme Displacement.

Displacement can be understood in many ways---being forced to leave one's home, navigating political upheaval, or feeling out of place in a rapidly changing world. It may arise from conflict, climate change, economic hardship, or broader societal shifts. It can also refer to internal, emotional, or existential states of dislocation.

We welcome a wide range of photographic approaches---documentary, conceptual, archival, or experimental.

Selected projects will be exhibited in public spaces throughout Landskrona, including our specially designed outdoor structures located in parks, city squares, and other urban environments. Artists may propose works that fit our existing formats or suggest new, innovative ways of presenting photography in the public realm.

Images of our current outdoor display structures can be found below.

We look forward to receiving your interpretations of Displacement, and to marking our 10th edition by continuing to make photography accessible, engaging, and relevant in public space.

About Landskrona Foto Festival

Landskrona Foto is the umbrella organization established in 2013 to serve as a dynamic centre for photography, encompassing exhibitions, events, and residencies. Our mission is to be a meeting place for photography---where both established and experimental practices intersect, enriching public understanding of photography and its cultural significance.

This vision comes to life during the 10th edition of Landskrona Foto Festival in September 2026. Over 17 days, the festival will showcase a diverse range of photographic work from across the globe. Exhibitions will be displayed in public spaces---such as parks, shopfronts, and streets---alongside galleries and museums, making photography an integral part of the city's landscape.

The festival has grown into a key event for photography professionals, featuring exhibitions, artist talks, the Dummy Award, photobook days, and many other exciting activities. It continues to be a crucial platform for creative exchange, learning, and the celebration of the photographic medium.
