The FIBA Photo Contest returns for its 10th edition with an exciting new format!

To mark this historical milestone, we invite you to celebrate basketball through powerful images that capture the game, its people, its history, and its impact across communities.

For the first time, the contest introduces dedicated categories, allowing you to submit your work according to different perspectives on basketball — from elite competitions and community initiatives to archival images that bring the history of the game back to life.

New prizes will also be awarded, offering even more opportunities to recognize and celebrate outstanding basketball photography.

Whether you are a professional or amateur photographer, a passionate storyteller, or someone with a unique basketball image in your archive, we invite you to submit your best shots and help us showcase the many ways basketball inspires, connects, and unites people around the world.

Prizes

CATEGORY WINNER (X3):

• 2.000 CHF worth of photography equipment;
• Social media post on FIBA channels;
• Publication in the annual FIBA Photo Book.

FIBA SHOT OF THE YEAR (selected amongst category winners):

• FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Photographer Experience: 5-day trip, with travel and accommodation included.
• Social media post on FIBA channels;
• Publication in the annual FIBA Photo Book.

How to enter

The FIBA Photo Contest is open to everyone regardless of age, nationality and country of residence. Participants under 18 years of age are responsible for ensuring that their submission is in compliance with the legal requirements of their country. Minors must accompany their registration with their parents’ or legal guardian’s prior approval. The approval document must be joined to the registration.

The Contest features three categories:

• Elite Basketball
  Submit your best images of basketball at the highest level - where top-tier talent, fierce competition, and unforgettable moments come together.
  We invite photographers to submit striking images portraying elite leagues, major tournaments, international championships, and prestigious competitions that showcase the game at its peak.
  From decisive plays and athletic excellence to the passion of players, coaches, teams, and fans, we invite you to capture the intensity, emotion, and spectacle that make top-level basketball truly exceptional.
• Community Basketball
  Show us how basketball brings people together!
  We invite you to capture the game at community initiatives level, social including Basketball For Good programs, and basketball played in streets, playgrounds, schools, and local courts around the world.
  We are looking for images that reflect the inclusive spirit of the game - celebrating connection, diversity, and the power of basketball to unite people from all backgrounds.
• Vintage Basketball
  Open your archives and bring basketball history back to life!
  We invite photographers to submit images taken at any time in the past, through to the early 2000s - showing how the game was played, experienced, and celebrated across generations.
  Whether captured on the court, in the streets, at local clubs, schools, tournaments, or community gatherings, we are looking for photographs that reveal the style, atmosphere, people, and Cultural Heritage of basketball.
