All entries in all classes (with the exception of Story of the Year) must be taken during the period 2024-01-01 to 2025-01-10. No material may previously have won in Årets Bild Sverige. The contestant may only submit material that he/she has produced himself. TV contributions must have permission and rights for all media used in the contribution. In the Story of the Year class, competitors are allowed to submit older material than from the competition year, but must contain at least one image/sequence from the competition year. No contributions need to have been previously published. Name, newspaper or channel symbol must not appear in contributions or captions. All entries compete anonymously. In all classes, the material can not have been arranged or directed at the moment of photography or filming. Portraits and interviews for moving material are the exception. The material must maintain the highest journalistic quality where storytelling is rewarded.
The processing of the images must correspond, and not constitute a fundamental difference, from the original. The jury has a high tolerance for artistic enhancement in image processing, but cloning, substantially darkening parts, adding or removing objects or otherwise changing the content of the image is not permitted. It is not allowed to use Ai to create, remove or add content to the image. The jury reserves the right to demand original files for review in doubtful cases. In case of disqualification of material, the fee is not refunded. The images must have sufficient resolution to be reproduced in both book and exhibition form. Do not interpolate or enlarge the image files beyond their original size. Feel free to use JPG in a size of max. 30 MB 300dpi. For films, we wish you to stick to MP4 format 1920×1080 max 3 GB.
All contributions must be freely available for books, exhibitions and other productions produced by or on behalf of Årets Bild Sverige AB, if the publication is combined with information about the competition Årets Bild and/or PFK. Årets Bild Sverige AB also owns the right to publish images and TV features on its own and on PFK's websites. Årets Bild Sverige AB has the right to correct colors and to crop images during the production of print material and exhibition. (Cropping of images will be avoided to the absolute greatest extent, but in some cases it may be necessary for the greater good of the production). Images and TV features may be made freely available to the media and cooperation partners for occasional publication in connection with the award ceremony when the results are announced. The pictures must be combined with a text about the Picture of the Year competition. Later publication of pictures must be done after agreement with Årets Bild Sverige AB. Collaboration partners, who have an agreement with Årets Bild Sverige AB, have the right to show contributions from Årets Bild during the current competition year. One condition is that the Picture of the Year logo and the photographer's name are entered in proportion to the size of the picture. By participating in the Picture of the Year competition, you accept these conditions.
