1.1 Participants accept the terms and conditions of the Turkey Mobile Photo Awards (hereinafter referred to as the "Competition") by entering the Competition.
1.2 FF Creative Space Media and Design Limited Company (Üsküdar Tax Office - Tax No: 3851912750) is the organizer of the Turkey Mobile Photo Awards (TMPA) and its team manages all processes (hereinafter referred to as the "Organizer").
1.3 Following the Competition, the Grand Prize winner, as well as the first, second, and third place winners in each category, along with honorable mention recipients, will be eligible for display on TMPA’s official website and social media channels. Any decision regarding a physical exhibition is at the sole discretion of the Organizer and does not constitute a binding commitment.
1.4 The Competition is not open to the following individuals: advisory board members, jury members, employees of the Organizer, and first-degree relatives of these individuals.
1.5 The parties shall not transfer the rights and obligations stipulated under this agreement to any third-party individuals or legal entities.
1.6 All inquiries and communications regarding the Competition or these terms and conditions must be made exclusively via info@tmpawards.com or the official social media accounts of the Competition.
2.1 The entry fees for the Competition vary depending on the number of photographs submitted. The fees are structured as follows:
2.2 Submission fee will be calculated and collected based on the number of photographs specified during the application process. Entry fees are non-refundable.
2.3 Participants may enter the Competition with as many photographs as they wish.
2.4 Once payment has been made, the Participant cannot request a refund. Neither the Organizer nor the Competition shall be held responsible for any lost or damaged submissions.
2.5 The Organizer reserves the right to modify participation fees during the course of the Competition if deemed necessary or appropriate.
3.1 Applications for the Competition will only be accepted electronically through the Competition partner platform, 'Picter,' accessible via the official website at www.tmpawards.com.
3.2 The Organizer acknowledges that it is solely the responsibility of the Participant to read and understand these terms and conditions during the application process. Participation in the Competition signifies the Participant's explicit acceptance of these terms and conditions.
3.3 The Competition is open to all photographers worldwide who use smartphones. Photographs must be taken with a phone or tablet. Participants are required to specify the make and model of the phone or tablet used to capture the images during submission. Any participant found to have used a device other than a smartphone or tablet will be disqualified from the Competition.
3.4 Photographs edited using desktop image processing applications cannot be submitted. However, basic editing such as cropping, light adjustments, brightness (exposure), vibrance, color corrections, and similar edits may be made using basic photo editing apps downloadable from smartphone stores or the built-in editing features of mobile devices. Advanced editing features provided by professional software, such as Photoshop, or artificial intelligence-based enhancements, such as AI cleaning or retouching, are strictly prohibited. Original files and EXIF data may be requested from the finalists. Submissions found to have violated these rules or used prohibited editing methods will be disqualified, and any awarded ranking will be rendered invalid.
3.5 Photographs must be in their original size or have dimensions of at least 1500 pixels in either height or width.
3.6 Participants may submit an unlimited number of photographs, regardless of category.
3.7 Winning participants must provide the original files of their entries in accordance with the required format after the conclusion of the Competition. All EXIF data must remain intact. Altered, corrupted, or incomplete EXIF data will result in disqualification.
3.8 Participants may submit photographs that have won awards in other competitions or are currently being considered in ongoing competitions.
3.9 There are no restrictions on the date or time when the photographs were taken.
3.10 Participants may resubmit photographs from previous TMPA open calls that either received honorable mentions or did not place. However, photographs that have previously won the Grand Prize or first, second, or third place in any category will not be accepted.
3.11 All entries must be original works by the Participant and must not infringe upon the rights of any third party. Participants must hold the sole copyright for all submitted photographs and obtain permission from any individuals depicted in the images (or, for individuals under 16, from their parents or legal guardians). The Competition and the Organizer shall not be held responsible for any disputes arising from privacy or data protection concerns related to individuals depicted in the photographs. Participants accept full legal responsibility for privacy and data protection issues and agree to indemnify the Competition and the Organizer in such cases.
3.12 By entering the Competition, Participants acknowledge that their participation does not grant them any intellectual property rights in relation to the Competition. Participants agree not to use any name, logo, or other intellectual property related to the Competition without prior written consent from the Organizer and not to make any public statements about the Organizer.
3.13 The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any Participant at any stage for any reason, including but not limited to intellectual property theft, violation of courtesy rules, malicious behavior, dishonest representation, or failure to comply with applicable rules and regulations.
3.14 Disqualified Participants are not entitled to any award or compensation and shall not receive any offer to this effect.
3.15 The decisions of the Organizer regarding all matters related to the Competition are final and non-negotiable with any Participant or associated party.
3.16 The Organizer reserves the right to waive any rule violations it deems appropriate or necessary.
3.17 By participating in the Competition, all Participants agree to avoid actions that could damage the reputation or commercial identity of the Organizer. Behavior during the Competition that has the potential to harm the reputation or commercial identity of the Organizer, other Participants, partners, advisors, charities, supporters, or sponsors may result in disqualification, a lifetime ban, and potential legal action depending on the severity of the breach.
3.18 Submissions that fail to meet identity verification requirements or are deemed unacceptable may be excluded from the Competition at any time by the Organizer.
3.19 Participants are required to provide personal and necessary information to verify their identity and establish communication for the purpose of participating in the Competition. TMPA uses the Picter platform to manage the application process. Participants' personal data will be stored in accordance with Picter's and TMPA's privacy statements for the duration of the active account.
3.20 When registering on the TMPA website for purposes such as joining the TMPA community or subscribing to newsletters, TMPA requests the submission of personal information. Subscription to the TMPA newsletter can be withdrawn at any time by clicking the 'unsubscribe' link in the email. TMPA does not retain personal data longer than necessary for the purposes of data collection unless there is a legal obligation to do so.
3.21 At the conclusion of the Competition, a scoring system is implemented to prepare an all-time ranking. The all-time ranking includes Participants who entered, placed, won awards, or received honorable mentions and is published annually on www.tmpawards.com and in the Winners' Book of the respective year. Participants who placed, won awards, or received honorable mentions agree to have their names, countries, and scores published in the all-time ranking. TMPA uses this data solely for ranking and publication purposes, and the data is processed in compliance with TMPA's privacy statements and data protection policies.
4.1 All submissions to the Competition remain the property and responsibility of the applicants. If the submitted images infringe upon the copyright or ownership rights of any third party, all submissions by the applicant will be deemed invalid. The Organizer will not be held liable for any financial penalties arising from copyright violations or infringements.
4.2 Copyright for the images remains with the applicant.
4.3 Copyright holders will be credited under their names on all platforms where their submitted works are displayed.
4.4 Any photograph used by the Competition will bear the photographer's credit. By participating in the Competition, the Participant grants the Organizer a non-exclusive, irrevocable, perpetual license to reproduce, publish, and display the photographs for purposes including, but not limited to, Competition-related publications and media, including those of sponsors. Participants agree and acknowledge that their photographs submitted to the Competition may be used across various media platforms---including print and social media---for marketing, promotional, and commercial purposes without additional compensation. This includes unlimited reproduction of images in high resolution for sponsor-supported exhibitions directly associated with the Competition. Participants consent to participate in promotional activities related to the
Competition and authorize the use of their names and images for advertising and promotional purposes without any further claims for compensation. The Organizer retains the right to use photographs in brand collaborations based on agreements made within the scope of the Competition.
4.5 Participants guarantee that the photographs are original, that they hold the rights to the photographs, that the photographs do not infringe upon the rights of any third party, that the photographs do not create a misleading or deceptive impression, and that all information provided about the photographs is accurate.
4.6 The Competition reserves the right to publish images for promotional purposes on social media accounts, in the Winners' Book of the relevant year, on the official website, and other official digital platforms (e.g., Open Call announcements) to promote the winners and those who placed in the Competition. By entering the Competition, participants agree to such promotional uses.
4.7 The Competition and the Organizer bear no responsibility and accept no liability for any unlawful or unethical use of the images by third parties, including media partners, that breaches the principles of law or good faith.
4.8 The Organizer may, if deemed appropriate for marketing and communication needs, include a hotlink or web link to the copyright owner's website, provided by the applicant during submission, on the Organizer's own website. The responsibility for maintaining the accuracy of these links lies solely with the applicant. The Organizer is under no obligation to update or ensure the accuracy of such information.
4.9 This agreement also covers ancillary promotions related to the Competition, such as the use of copyrighted materials for printing promotional posters, brochures, guides, and similar materials.
4.10 The copyright holder grants permission to the Organizer to access their copyrighted material (including image files and captions) to facilitate the jury process.
4.11 The Organizer shall not be held liable for the public display of works by third parties without the copyright holder's permission or without proper credit to the copyright holder.
5.1 After the submission period closes, an initial screening is conducted by a committee appointed by the Organizer. The Organizer is not obligated to disclose the identities of the committee members. In the second round, an independent, competent, and objective jury selected and appointed by the Organizer evaluates the shortlisted photographs by category. The jury members are announced on the official website and social media accounts. The jury evaluates the photographs that advanced from the initial screening on a category-by-category basis. Category winners are selected based on the highest jury score assigned to the images. The Organizer reserves the right to add or replace jury members at its discretion during the Competition.
5.2 The participant with the highest jury score within each category is declared the category winner. Each category winner receives a cash prize of $500. Additionally, the 1st place winner in each category is awarded the Competition's Gold Badge, the 2nd place winner the Silver Badge, and the 3rd place winner the Bronze Badge. These badges are delivered electronically by the Organizer.
5.3 At the conclusion of the second round, the participant with the highest jury score across all entries, regardless of category, is declared the Photographer of the Year. The Photographer of the Year receives a cash prize of $2,000 and the Photographer of the Year Badge, which is also delivered electronically by the Organizer.
5.4 If a participant places in the Competition (Grand Prize, category first, second, or third place), no request for cancellation or revocation of the awarded ranking will be accepted after the announcement of the results. By participating in the Competition, participants agree in advance that the results are final and irrevocable.
5.5 For participants who place and are eligible for cash prizes, the Organizer will contact them through the communication channels provided (email or phone) following the announcement of results. Participants must provide the necessary bank account information and any other requested details within one (1) month from the notification date. If a participant fails to respond within the specified period, their right to claim the award will be forfeited, and no further claims will be entertained.
5.6 The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any photograph at any stage of the Competition for reasons including, but not limited to, explicit or inappropriate content, ethical violations, intellectual property infringement, incorrect formats, or inappropriate behavior by the participant in relation to the Competition.
5.7 The costs associated with award distribution within Turkey are covered by the Competition/ Organizer. For payments made to international bank accounts, all fees (including taxes, withholding taxes, and any unforeseen additional charges) will be deducted before the payment is processed.
5.8 Jury members are bound by a confidentiality agreement throughout their collaboration with the Competition and the Organizer. Under this agreement, they are prohibited from disclosing any related information to any individual (including participants, sponsors, press, or media representatives).
