In this XII edition of the Revela’t Festival of Contemporary Analog Photography, the chosen theme is:
"Identity" is a broad topic that can be simplified or understood as the set of characteristics that characterize an individual or a collective in relation to others.
Let's leave behind the limitations imposed by past social roles and expectations. Nowadays, identity emerges through a multitude of prisms: gender, culture, society, intimacy, and technology intertwine to create polyphonic and complex portraits of who we are. Identity is not static; it is a constantly changing and reinventing process.
We invite you to observe, explore, and represent identity from various perspectives. Identity as an evolving canvas, a mosaic of faces and experiences that intertwine, diverge, and converge. A celebration of diversity and an affirmation of the universal that connects us. Our goal is to expand this idea and represent it from updated perspectives.
Join us on this journey to Revela’t 2024.
The call for exhibition aims to select three projects carried out in the field of photography or analog processes to be produced (or transported) and exhibited at the next edition of the Revela't Festival during May and June 2024.
The exhibition opportunity at the festival includes support for travel and accommodation for the winners, international promotion, and networking opportunities with other professionals in the cultural and specifically photographic field.
The call is open to all photographers who have an analog project and the ambition, desire, and motivation to showcase it to the world. Revela't is a platform for projection that embraces and welcomes both internationally renowned photographers and emerging talents every year because we believe in the power of projects and in providing opportunities to authors who have not yet established a consolidated trajectory. Revela't means international projection at any stage of the author's journey.
All participants, whether selected or not, will have the opportunity to share their work in a digital projection that will take place at the main venue of the festival.
1st winner will receive
2nd winner will receive
3rd winner will receive
EVERYBODY
All the submitters will have the opportunity to exhibit their project on a screening during the whole month of the festival that will take place in the same space as the rest of the exhibitions.
Revela’t Contemporary Analog Photography Festival is the first analog festival in the world and it’s held every year in Vilassar de Dalt (Barcelona, Spain). The festival is a one month celebration around analog photography that includes a market, activities, workshops, portfolio review, residencies… all of these activities accompany the backbone of the festival, the exhibitions.
Revela’t is considered a festival of reference for the cultural scene in Spain. The festival encompasses in the same space relevant artists such as Jim Goldberg, Jeff Bridges, Alberto Garcia Alix, Joan Fontcuberta, Deanna Dikeman, Alessandra Sanguinetti, Alexey Titarenko, Vanessa Winship, Luis González Palma and a lot of emerging proposals, some of them exhibiting for the first time with us.
The familiar approach of the festival makes the author’s comfortable and accompanied during the whole process of making the exhibition a reality. During the Main weekend of the festival, all the authors get together and meet in person, a lot of activities and encounters are prepared like a brunch with gallerists, curators, editors and other professionals of the industry, guided tours, media presence, conferences… One of the most valuable things that you’ll get from Revela’t is the important contacts you’ll meet and the relationships that you’ll create in here.
An international jury will value - but it won’t be mandatory- the projects with an exhibition proposal and the contemporary ones. The work must have relation with the theme of the edition “IDENTITY”. The jury’s decision can not be revoked.
