Anette Skuggedal
Anette Skuggedal
Founder of Lumina Gallery, and Co-founder of CASE Art Fund.

Anette Skuggedal is a curator, art director, publisher, and art consultant based in Oslo, Norway. As the founder and director of Lumina Gallery, she is devoted to the art of photography—its capacity to reveal, to question, and to connect. Through exhibitions, publications, and collaborations with artists and institutions worldwide, Lumina has become a space where visual narratives unfold and new voices are nurtured. With an early background in film, advertising, and broadcasting, Skuggedal turned her focus to the visual arts in 2003, founding PUG Oslo (Pop Up Gallery)—an experimental platform that brought photography into both traditional and unexpected spaces. In 2017, this vision evolved into Lumina Gallery, expanding to encompass mentoring programs, workshops, and a photography bookstore. Together, these initiatives form a living dialogue between artists, audiences, and the photographic medium itself. Under her direction, Lumina has presented acclaimed exhibitions internationally, featuring photographers such as Sally Mann, Roger Ballen, Joyce Tenneson, and Arno Rafael Minkkinen. Skuggedal's curatorial practice is guided by a sensitivity to the artist's vision and a belief in the photograph's power to move, challenge, and illuminate. She is also the co-founder of CASE Art Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to children's voices, photography-based projects and exhibitions that raise awareness and inspire engagement with humanitarian and social issues through the lens of art.
