Curation of shortlisted entries

Oslo Negativ Photo Festival 2025 is situated in Oslo. This year’s location is to be announced, but earlier years, the festival has been in buildings with a lot of character, such as an old library and an abandoned veterinary school. Curating an exhibition within this kind of venue is challenging and Preus Museum is dependent on having creative freedom to curate the Open Call exhibition.

Production of the exhibition and production costs

Preus Museum will produce the exhibition at Oslo Negativ Photo Festival 2025 in October. The production costs will be covered by the Preus Museum. If the winner wishes to produce their own work, Preus Museum will only be able to make a contribution towards the production costs and shipment of the work.

Prizes

The winning submission will receive a cash prize of 20.000 NOK and a place in the collection of Preus Museum. The winner will be exhibited at the Oslo Negativ Photo Festival 2025, where Preus Museum covers the production costs and travel expenses to the exhibition (with a price cap). Preus Museum will curate the exhibition in dialogue with the winner. We will do our best to cover the travel expenses for the winner to attend the festival and do a talk.

Image use

The images that are part of the selected work can be used by Preus Museum and Oslo Negativ Photo Festival to promote the exhibition, festival, and activities in it. All the images that are used will be credited.
