José Farinha, born in Porto, Portugal, holds a degree in Mining Engineering and has worked in this field in Peru, Porto, and London. It was in London that, from 2011 onwards, he began dedicating himself entirely to photography. Since then, he has collaborated on various artistic projects focused on cultural exchange and community engagement, notably with the London-based theatre company PSYCHEdelight, which works with a group of professional actors and exiles/refugees. In 2020, together with Paulo Pimenta, he co-founded and became co-editor of the project Kioskzine, a fanzine dedicated exclusively to photography. In 2023, again in collaboration with Paulo Pimenta, he co-founded the cultural association Dez Quinze, aimed at developing activities that promote and disseminate photography. He was selected to participate in the book Portrait of Humanity 2020, Vol. 2. He has taken part in several exhibitions, including solo shows such as Próxima Paragem, Mês da Imagem, MIP On, Porto (2021), London Calling, Galeria Doof, Porto (2021), and The Jungle, Theatre Deli EC2, London (2018). After studying art history in Florence and political science in Paris, Sara Giuliattini took part in the creation of Le BAL, an exhibition space dedicated to documentary photography in Paris in 2010. Today she co-directs Polycopies, a non-profit organization for the dissemination and promotion of independent and experimental publishing practices (books, multiples, paper objects, etc… ). Every year, to coincide with the Paris Photo fair, Polycopies organizes its festival and transforms the Concorde-Atlantique boat and the banks of the River Seine that border it into a vast ephemeral bookstore entirely dedicated to photography books. More than a hundred French and international publishers and booksellers welcome visitors. In 2024, she joined the team at La Chambre, an exhibition and training space dedicated to photography in Strasbourg, as a curator. Her professional career combines knowledge of the contemporary and international photography scene with extensive experience in the development of artistic and cultural projects. For nearly 15 years, she has been committed to working with photographers in art centres, publishing houses and other exhibition spaces. Photo: © Maciek Pozoga
