Inglewood Photography Festival Book Grant 2024: Terms and Conditions

By participating in this contest, participants acknowledge and agree to comply with the following terms and conditions:

1. Eligibility

  • Open to photographers aged 18 and over, from all countries.

  • Open to emerging photographers who have not yet published a professionally distributed book.

  • Photographers who have previously self-published a book are eligible. However, photographers who have published with an established publisher are not eligible.

  • International photographers are welcome to participate, as submissions are digital. No additional requirements apply to international participants.

2. Submission Requirements

  • Submissions must be made digitally through Picter. No physical or email submissions will be accepted.
  • All projects must be based in the photographic medium, including but not limited to digital or analog photography, or any other photographic processes.
  • A minimum of 50 images is required per project.

Image Requirements:

  • File Type: JPEG
  • Color Profile: sRGB
  • Minimum Size: 1,500 px on the long side
  • Best Size: 4,500 px on the long side
  • Maximum File Size (Resolution): 61 Megapixels
  • Maximum File Size (Storage): 300 MB
  • DPI: Not required
  • No watermarks allowed
  • Projects submitted must be completed and fully realized. Works in progress will not be accepted.
  • Once submitted, entries cannot be edited.

3. Important Dates

  • Submissions open: October 28, 2024
  • Submissions close: December 9, 2024, 11:59 PM PST
  • Winner announced: January 1, 2025

4. Entry Fee

  • A fee of $10 per project is required for submission.
  • There is no limit to the number of completed projects a photographer can submit.

5. Copyright

  • All submitted work must be the photographer's own original creation, and entrants must hold full rights to the material.
  • The participating photographer retains full copyright for all submitted work.

6. Judging Criteria

  • Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of distinguished judges, including Everard Williams, Director of Photography at ArtCenter College of Design, and Nicholas Fahey of Fahey/Klein Gallery.
  • Judges will prioritize cohesive, thematic, and fully realized bodies of work that demonstrate readiness for publication. Onlycompleted projects will be considered. Works in progress are ineligible.

7. Winner's Award

  • The winning project will be published as a monograph and distributed internationally.
  • Selected works will be exhibited at the Inglewood Photography Festival in May 2025.
  • The winner will receive mentorship from Nicholas Fahey of the Fahey/Klein Gallery to guide their fine art career. Please note, the mentorship does not imply or guarantee formal or passive gallery representation by Fahey/Klein Gallery or any affiliated entities.

8. Usage of Submitted Works

  • By submitting, you grant the Inglewood Photography Festival permission to use and publish your images across all media platforms for promotional purposes related to the Book Grant, the Inglewood Photo Festival, and its affiliates.
  • The Festival reserves the right to determine the layout, size, and materials for any digital or physical exhibitionsfeaturing selected photographs.
