About

FoMe launches its first international open call under the theme INTUITION, inviting photographers to explore its role as a subject or as part of their creative process. All photographic genres and approaches are welcome.

Selected works will be exhibited at FoMe during Mexico City Art Week, February 3–7, 2027.

Official Selection

Fifty artists will exhibit one photograph each, with printing and mounting fully funded by FoMe. All works will be available for sale. Artists retain copyright and receive 65% of the sale price, excluding indirect taxes.

FoMe Prize

FoMe will award MXN 120,000 (approx.US$6,000 less applicable taxes) to one of the 50 selected photographs.

The winner will be announced on February 7, 2027. The prize does not involve acquiring the work or transferring copyright.

Submissions and selection

Entry is free. Submit one photograph or two to three images from the same project. Project images provide context for your work; only one photograph per artist will be selected for exhibition.

A six-member jury will vote in two rounds: first selecting the 50 photographs to be exhibited, then choosing the FoMe Prize winner from among them.

FoMe (Fotografía Mexicana) is a platform devoted to promoting, exhibiting, and encouraging the collecting of photographic work through three pillars: an art fair, a digital archive of experiences, and the FoMe Prize.
It brings together the most distinguished figures in Mexican photography, bridging generations and creative trajectories to create a meeting point where its legacy, present, and future converge.
FoMe’s purpose is to broaden the circulation of photographic work in the market and to strengthen a more open, dynamic, and interconnected photographic ecosystem.

Application Requirements

Applications must be submitted exclusively through Picter.

Personal information

Complete the personal information requested in your Picter profile, including your full name, date of birth, nationality and email address.

Portfolio and CV

Upload a single PDF in the “Curriculum Vitae” field containing:

• Portfolio: A complete portfolio including images and technical details of your work, an artist statement, and descriptions of your most significant projects from the past five years.
• CV: personal details, solo exhibitions and group exhibitions, if applicable.

This document provides context for your photographic practice. Images entered for selection must be uploaded separately in the submission section.

Project information

Submit one standalone photograph or two to three images from the same project.

• Project title: title of your photograph or project.
• Description: up to 250 words explaining your proposal and its relationship to INTUITION.
• Location, country and year: complete the corresponding fields.

These project fields also apply to submissions consisting of a single photograph.

Image information

Arrange your images in the intended viewing order. For each image, provide:

• Image title: title of the photograph.
• Image description: photographic medium or process, along with any relevant information about the image.
• Country, location and date: complete the corresponding fields.

Declarations and acceptance

By submitting your work, you confirm that you have read and agree to the FoMe Open Call Terms and Conditions.

Once submitted, the application, including its texts and images, cannot be modified. Additional entries to replace the original submission will not be accepted.

Required documents for selected artists

Following notification, selected entrants must:

• Submit a high-resolution TIFF or JPG file at 300 dpi for printing. This image must be exactly the same as the one assessed by the jury. No substitutions or modifications will be accepted after the jury’s decision.
• Confirm their participation and complete and return the documents provided by FoMe upon selection, including the required authorizations and information.

Production of the photographic work

FoMe will cover the production costs of the selected work, including printing and mounting for its exhibition in the Official Selection of the FoMe Fair.
