The promoter of this Open Call is the Experimental Photo Festival in Barcelona, organised by the Asociación Experimental Photo Festival.
These terms and conditions apply to the VII Experimental Photo Festival in Barcelona 2026 Open Call ("the Open Call"), which will run until 11:59 pm CET on 3 November 2025.
Entries received after the closing date will be automatically disqualified.
The promoters accept no responsibility for entries not received due to technical issues, submission errors, or any other causes.
Entries must be submitted exclusively through the Picter platform. Submissions through other platforms or methods will not be accepted.
Participation in the Open Call costs €20 for each project.
The Open Call is open to photographic and visual creators worldwide, whether professional, amateur, or emerging. Employees, contractors, or direct family members of the Asociación Experimental Photo Festival are not eligible.
Submitted works must not infringe the copyright or intellectual property of third parties. Entrants will hold the promoters harmless from any claims arising from the submission.
Personal data provided during the submission process will be used for processing the application, internal jury review, and communication relating to the Open Call. Such data may be stored for up to 5 years for research, evaluation, and promotional purposes. Data will not be shared without consent. To request data removal, please email experimentalphotofestival@gmail.com.
All submission data will be processed through Picter, which will manage information according to its privacy policies.
By submitting a project, participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
Participants retain the copyright of their work, but grant the Experimental Photo Festival and the Asociación Experimental Photo Festival a worldwide, irrevocable, and perpetual licence to use the submitted images for promotional purposes, including exhibitions, websites, and social media.
The winners will be selected by a jury composed of Pablo Giori, Arantxa Berganzo, Emiliano Covello, and Astrid Jacomme. The judges will assess originality, innovation, photographic quality, and technical diversity.
The jury's decision is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the results.
Selected artists will be notified by the end of December. They must acknowledge receipt and sign the mandatory rights contracts within 14 days of notification. Failure to respond may result in loss of participation and the appointment of a replacement artist.
The selected artists will receive €800 in cash and in kind as detailed below:
Financial support of up to €250 for production, transport, or installation of the work.
A free ticket to the festival or a full pass if they deliver a workshop (estimated value €200).
Official merchandising (estimated value €40) and lunch during the event (estimated value €50).
€150 in courses at Agora, School of Experimentation.
Participation in an international conference on experimental exhibitions.
Priority in official accommodation in Barcelona.
Promotion of their projects through the festival's channels, with a community of more than 60,000 followers.
Visibility among directors and curators of influential international festivals.
The benefits are as stated and non-transferable. No cash or other alternatives will be offered.
The promoters reserve the right to reject entries deemed inappropriate or offensive.
The promoters reserve the right to cancel or modify the Open Call at their sole discretion. Any changes will be communicated promptly to participants.
These terms and conditions are governed by Spanish law, and any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Barcelona, Spain.
This Open Call is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by any social media platform or by third parties other than Picter.
The promoters reserve the right to change or modify these terms and conditions at any time, effective immediately upon publication on the Open Call webpage.
