Applicants for the DPPF Sports Photography Grants programs agree through their participation to be bound by the terms and conditions listed below. The DPPF reserves the right to disqualify entrants who are in violation of these terms.
All submissions must adhere to the parameters stated on the grants application website. Incomplete submissions will not be accepted.
All decisions of the DPPF judging panel are final and not subject to appeal. The DPPF will not enter into correspondence regarding the panelists' decisions and is unable to provide feedback to entrants.
Applicants warrant that they are the authors and owners of the copyright to all images submitted, that their submissions are free from third-party claims, and that they do not infringe upon privacy rights or copyright of any other person.
Submissions must be the entrant's original idea. Modification of an original work is not an original idea. Submissions must not copy or otherwise plagiarize from any source
Applicants will retain all copyright and ownership of their images.
Winners agree to allow the DPPF to use their names, likenesses, and their submitted images, free of charge, for the purposes of promoting its nonprofit programs.
Mentorship participants agree to allow the DPPF to use a selection of the images resulting from their mentorship to promote the future nonprofit activities of the Fund.
The DPPF conforms to the standards set forth in the National Press Photographers Association's Code of Ethics.
Applicants warrant that their entries are their own original work and that they are the exclusive owners and rights holders of their submissions.
Applicants may not submit entries that infringe any third party rights of any kind, including without limitation, copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, privacy, publicity, or confidentiality obligations.
Submissions must not contain material which is (or promote activities which are) in the Fund's sole discretion, hateful, slanderous, libelous, tortious, sexually explicit, obscene, pornographic, inappropriate, violent, self-mutilating (e.g., relating to murder, the sales of weapons, cruelty, abuse, etc.), discriminatory (based on race, sex, religion, natural origin, physical disability, sexual orientation or age), illegal (e.g., underage drinking, substance abuse, computer hacking, etc.), offensive, threatening, profane, or harassing; or contain material that is threatening to any person, place, business, group or world peace; or contain words or symbols that are widely considered offensive to individuals of a certain race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or socioeconomic group; or contain images, words or text portraying acts of violence, or acts that are or appear to be unlawful or dangerous or in violation of, or contrary to law.
All winners shall be responsible for any tax liability arising from acceptance of a grant.
All applicants agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless the DPPF, its affiliates, officers and directors from any and all liability, claims, or damages arising out of their participation in the programs of the DPPF.
The DPPF collects identifying information from applicants. Applicants agree that this data may be collected, stored and used for the purposes of the competition and that entrants may receive email correspondence from the DPPF. These activities are subject to the terms of the DPPF's Privacy Policy.
