We're kicking off our new 1:1 feedback sessions at Der Greif during the 2024 edition of Les Rencontres d’Arles in France. Our goal is to provide our community with personalized guidance and constructive critique to enhance your artistic vision and the trajectory of your career. Our team members will be offering free in-person 1:1 feedback sessions during “Der Greif Face-to-Face: Arles Edition” at ParisBerlin Fotohaus in Arles on the morning of Wednesday, July 3. Submit your in progress work to win one of these in-person 1:1 sessions. We will select participants based on who we think could benefit most from meeting with us.
Going beyond the traditional portfolio review, these sessions give you tailored insights from our expert team members, empowering you to refine your work and achieve your creative goals. Each free 20-minute feedback session is designed to target the area you need the most help with in your artistic practice with a follow up online session after Arles included. We will be selecting 18 individuals from this open call to invite for a free personalized in-person session before launching our new online 1:1 feedback program for a small fee in Fall 2024.
Based on your application we will match you with one of our expert team members at Der Greif; Simon Lovermann (Founder & Artistic Co-Director), Dr. Caroline von Courten (Artistic Co-Director & Head of Fundraising), and Francesca Hummler (Community Manager). With three different professional profiles and backgrounds, Simon Lovermann as entrepreneur, communication designer, and networking allrounder, Caroline von Courten as lecturer, curator/editor and writer, and Francesca as an award winning artist, educator/writer and our social media “whizz”, we intend to give you a tailored guidance in the most challenging area of your artistic practice.
As a participant, you will get feedback on how to enhance your portfolios/book dummies for open calls, exhibitions, and industry recognition. Additionally, these sessions offer insights into current trends, networking opportunities, and understanding the preferences of curators and industry professionals. Ultimately, the feedback received helps you as a photographer position your work effectively within the market, identifying potential audiences, collaborators, and opportunities for growth and exposure in the dynamic world of photography.
We encourage all our submitters to attend our celebration at ParisBerlin Fotohaus the same night, Wednesday, July 3 from 10 pm - 2 am. Dance all night with a fantastic DJ set and a special screening of all the selected 18 portfolios.
Please note that as a participant you must already be attending the Les Rencontres d'Arles festival to apply, as we can not compensate travel or accommodation costs.
Please feel free to contact us.
