Roger Grasas
Roger Grasas
Photographer and Visual Artist

Born in Barcelona in 1970, he discovered his passion for photography after moving to Menorca following his graduation in Optics in 1992. He obtained a Graduate Degree in Photography from the EFFPC in 1998 and began his career covering reports for NGOs in Central America. He later completed a Postgraduate Degree in Aesthetics at the UAB and a Degree in Philosophy at the Universitat de Barcelona, with a focus on aesthetics and political philosophy, and completed further training at the International Center of Photography in New York in 2015. In 2009, he moved to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he combined commercial assignments with his first long-term projects: ‘Min Turab’ and ‘Ha Aretz’. Travel is the thread running through his work, while territory emerges as the core of his narratives. Positioned at the intersection of investigative documentary and authored photography, his projects explore the complexity of the present through the representation of a strange and alienated contemporary landscape.
