New Normal

Changing Asia is a documentary photography project that aims to capture the changes in Asia over the last three years under the pandemic. Its mission is to collect the best photography from the region for an exhibition and book.

Changing Asia announces a call for photography submissions with the theme New Normal. It is open to all photographers from Asia interested in submitting their works to participate in one of the most ambitious and comprehensive projects to date on this important subject. You are invited to submit photos that tell stories related to the theme New Normal, photos that capture life in the midst of COVID-19, including times of lockdown, vaccinations, masks, quarantine, and all the other aspects of life during the pandemic. Submissions can include but not be limited to photos documenting the changes in people’s everyday life, in their culture and heritage, in the way they live and learn, as well as to how international events were shaped.

What winners receive

All selected works will be exhibited in November 2022 in Bangkok and be included in a photo book that documents this period. All photographers with submissions chosen for inclusion in the project will receive a trophy and two free copies of the Changing Asia – New Normal photography book.
