The aim of the KulturLANDSCHAFTEN- WASSER competition is to promote photographers whose submitted works artistically update the Braunschweigische Landschaft collection by exploring the theme of water in the region.

A jury of experts will decide on the nomination and awarding of prizes. It will select a maximum of five photographers from the applications received. These will be invited to realise the project described in their application in a multi-part series.
In their work, the nominees will explore the theme of water and the existing KulturLANDSCHAFTEN collection. The subject of the photographic exploration is Braunschweiger Land 3 as an area of activity of the Braunschweigische Landschaft.
With the nomination, the photographers receive an expense allowance of €500. The resulting works will be shown together with parts of the KulturLANDSCHAFTEN collection in a travelling exhibition 4 and published in an exhibition catalogue. At the opening of the first exhibition, the jury will award the prize of €5,000 for the best competition entry, which will be included in the KulturLANDSCHAFTEN collection.
The costs for the production of the exhibition prints are borne by the Braunschweigische Landschaft. After the travelling exhibition, the exhibition prints that are not included in the collection will be returned to the respective artists.
