The promoter of this Open Call is Experimental Hub, Photo & Art Space in Barcelona, part of the Experimental Photo Festival Association.
These terms and conditions apply to the Barcelona Experimental Hub Open Call ('the Open Call'), which runs until 11:59 pm CET on March 10, 2025.
Entries received after the Closing Date will be automatically disqualified.
The promoters accept no responsibility for entries not received due to technical issues, submission errors, or any other reason.
Entries must be submitted exclusively through the Picter platform. Submissions through other platforms or methods will not be accepted.
There is a €20 entry fee for participation in the Open Call.
The call is open to photographers and artists worldwide, whether professional, amateur, or emerging. Employees, contractors, or direct family members of the Experimental Hub or the Experimental Photo Festival Association are not eligible.
Entries must not infringe on the copyrights or intellectual property of third parties. The entrant will hold the promoters harmless from any claims arising from the submission.
Personal data provided during the submission process will be used for application processing, internal selection panel review, and communication regarding the Open Call. Data may be stored for up to 5 years for research, evaluation, and promotional purposes. Data will not be shared without consent. All submission data will be processed via Picter, which will handle information following its privacy policies.
By submitting a project, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
Entrants retain the copyright of their work but grant the Experimental Hub and the Experimental Photo Festival Association a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual license to use submitted images for promotional purposes, including exhibitions, websites, and social media.
Winners will be chosen by a panel of judges, including Pablo Giori, Arantxa Berganzo, Emiliano Covello, and Astrid Jacomme. Judges will assess originality, innovation, photographic quality, and technical diversity.
The decision of the judges is final, and no correspondence regarding outcomes will be entered into.
Five selected artists will be notified by the end of March. Winners must claim their prizes and sign the mandatory rights contracts within 14 days of notification. Failure to respond may result in prize forfeiture and the selection of a replacement winner.
The five selected artists will receive:
A two-month solo exhibition at the Experimental Hub in Barcelona.
Enrollment in a 10-month Diploma in Experimental Photography at Ágora.
A full pass to the Experimental Photo Festival 2025, including two workshops.
€200 in cash to support exhibition production or travel to the event.
International exposure through promotional channels.
Prizes are as stated and are non-transferable, with no cash or other alternatives offered.
The promoters reserve the right to reject entries deemed inappropriate or offensive.
The promoters reserve the right to cancel or amend the Open Call at their sole discretion. Any changes will be communicated promptly to participants.
These terms and conditions are governed by Spanish law, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Barcelona, Spain.
This Open Call is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by any social media platform or third party other than Picter.
The promoters reserve the right to change or modify these terms and conditions at any time, with updates effective immediately upon posting to the Open Call webpage.
