REGULATIONS

OF THE INTERNATIONAL OPEN CALL FOR PHOTOGRAPHY SERIES ORGANIZED BY THE TAURAGĖ REGIONAL MUSEUM "SANTAKA"

I. GENERAL PROVISIONS

  1. The International Open Call (hereinafter -- the Call) is part of the KVADRATU Festival and is intended to invite both professional and emerging photographers to present their creative ideas and works under this year's theme "The Boundary."

  2. These Regulations define the objectives, participant requirements, and the procedures for submission, evaluation, and selection.

  3. The organizer of the Call is the Tauragė Regional Museum "Santaka." 4. The project is supported by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and the Tauragė District Municipality.

II. OBJECTIVES

  1. To identify talented photography artists and provide them with opportunities to professionally present their work.

  2. To promote the KVADRATU Festival among young and professional photographers in Lithuania and abroad through an open call process.

  3. To encourage local photographers from Tauragė to actively participate and provide them with equal opportunities to showcase their creativity.

  4. To popularize photography as a form of artistic expression and to foster the creative skills of emerging photographers.

III. PARTICIPANTS

  1. The Call is open to all photographers, artists, and creators, regardless of nationality, place of residence, or country.

  2. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.

IV. SUBMISSION OF WORKS

  1. Entries may be submitted from 1 February to 16 of April 2026.

  2. The Call will be announced on www.picter.com and publicized through the Tauragė Regional Museum "Santaka" communication channels -- the official website, social media, partners' networks, and national/regional press.

  3. Works must be submitted as series of photographs under the theme "The Boundary." 15. Suggested photography genres include:

  • Portrait

  • Social photography

  • Street photography

  • Photo reportage

  • Photo story

  • Series of single frames

  • Experimental photography

  • Conceptual photography

  • Aesthetic photography

  • Architecture

  1. Photographs must be submitted in JPG (JPEG) format, 4500x2540 px resolution, with a maximum file size of 4.5 MB per image. Submissions are made via www.picter.com. 17. Each author may submit one photography series consisting of 16--20 photographs.

  2. All files must be named as follows: name_surname_title (e.g.,jonas_petrauskas_borderline). For series, reportages, or stories, the sequence of photographs must be clearly indicated. A separate file must include a short description of the concept (5-7 sentences).

V. EVALUATION AND SELECTION

  1. Submitted works will be evaluated by a three-member jury appointed by the Director of the Tauragė Regional Museum "Santaka." The jury will consist of professionals in photography and other fields of art.

  2. The jury will select up to five photography series, which will be exhibited in public urban spaces and museum exhibitions as part of the KVADRATU Festival.

  3. Each selected artist will receive a creative honorarium of 200 EUR for the preparation and exhibition of their series.

  4. Selected artists will be invited to participate in the public presentation event in Tauragė. 23. The exhibition setup and related expenses will be organized and covered by the Tauragė Regional Museum "Santaka."

  5. The selected participants and their works will be announced on the museum's website www.tauragesmuziejus.lt, on social media, and in the press. Each selected participant will also be contacted individually.

  6. Works that do not meet technical requirements (e.g., incorrect resolution, visible digital watermarks, or date stamps), are submitted after the deadline, or otherwise fail to comply with these Regulations, will not be evaluated.

  7. Photographs that violate laws or promote religious or ethnic intolerance will not be evaluated.

VI. FINAL PROVISIONS

  1. Personal data submitted by participants will be processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and used solely for the administration of the Call, communication with participants, and publication of results. Data will not be shared with third parties without the participant's consent.

  2. The organizer reserves the right to use the submitted photographs for non-commercial purposes – including project promotion, publication in catalogues, posters, printed materials, press, museum communication, photography promotion, exhibitions, and online publication -- while crediting the author and respecting copyright.

  3. By submitting their works, participants confirm that they:

  • are the authors of the submitted works;

  • have obtained consent from persons depicted in the photographs;

  • assume full responsibility for any copyright infringements.

  1. Submission of a photography series constitutes acceptance of all the terms and conditions set out in these Regulations.
